- Miniatures can be taken inside (they visit nursing homes for instance) but they are horses and should be treated as such.
- Do miniatures act like horses or ponies?
- We like to think they have the best traits of both but they are bred to be horses not ponies. They generally have great temperaments and are very smart.
- Do minis wear shoes?
- Typically, no. They are not needed or recommended unless certain conditions require them.
- What do you do with a miniature horse?
- Minis can be trained as show horses in halter, jumping, cart, & costume classes, just to name a few. They are trained for pleasure driving and very small children may also ride them. They make wonderful pets, companions for other horses, and are used in special programs such as ours. In addition, they are a favorite attraction at petting zoos and parades.
